The Kollel held its 3rd annual pre-Rosh Hashana East Side Shabbaton on Shabbos Parshas Ki Setze, August 28-29, just days before Rosh Hashana. Eight Kollel families were hosted by the Eastside community, and the Kollel scholars and Kollel women offered a number of classes and talks focused on the Yamim Nora’im (Days of Awe) at Bais Yisroel, DAT Minyan and EDOS.

“I really enjoyed spending Shabbos with the members of the Kollel, and it’s always a pleasure to hear their words of Torah,” said DAT Minyan member Josh Baraban. “The DAT community benefits tremendously from our warm relationship with the Denver Kollel.”

“Everyone on the East Side is so welcoming and appreciative,” says Gitty Mozes of the Kollel. “It’s inspiring to see so many people looking to grow in their Judaism.”

“I’m a native of Denver, and even though my family went to the West Side to visit my great-grandmother who lived on Irving, we never had any connection to the Jewish community on ‘that’ side of town,” explains East Side resident Ellyn Hutt. “The Kollel has changed all that, creating a bridge that has brought me and my husband into a relationship with Kollel rabbis, rebbetzins, and other West Side, and, now, Southeast, families. We’re grateful for their teaching, their programs and their presence.”
